Question Speed Shifting?

I've heard people talk about speed shifting...Is it something that you are able to do with an STi? What is it? How do you do it? Is it safe? Any information is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ricky

I've heard "speed shifting" refer to shifting without the use of a clutch. Just lift and shove it into the next gear. I would not do this with a synchromesh transmission. A dog box is made for it, but Subarus don't come with factory dog boxes.

Anyone else have a different take on "speed shifting"?
