If you can only get one side in at a time, you might want to double check the clearance around the intercooler itself.
And a +1 for Andrew's shop. |

Can anyone get Andrew to pop in on this thread and comment on MISC work? On the website it makes ZERO mention of misc auto work. IE does he install gauges and what not as well as trimming bumpers for FMIC's?

"Not to be an ass but you trimmed the bumper to fit over the intercooler, yes?"
i deff trimmed it enough think i cut a little more then i shouldve. i think one of the pipes just isnt lined up perfectly or something. i shouldnt hav done it myself its hard to get them lined up perfectly. i previously installed a turboxs stealthback and uppipe, that went smooth but this fmic install kicked my butt. ill call andewtech tommorrow see if they got some time to look at it |

after making sure that everything is ok with the clearance, rather than using the black plastic screws that just snap in, I actually used a screw and bolted it down to make sure it wouldnt move. It doesn't matter what size as long as the nut is wider than the hole and won't slide through. I had the same problem for a while, but after doing that, it seemed to take care of it.

ill hav it back either tonight or tommorrow, ill deff stop by the store. just normal driving im really happy with it compared to the hyperflow tmic i prev had. people cry lag as soon as someone mentions the stock turbo and a fmic, i noticed a little delay in the transition from vacuum to boost but thats it. i didnt really get on it either. after i upgrade the drivetrain i plan on getting a FP 18g or FP 16g turbo with the ev03 wheel so i decided to upgarde to a fmic now, plus i love the fact the tmic isnt in there to get in the way of working on the car now. the hyperflow tmic was a pain to get in and out and the sucker is heavy! lol... im goin2 hav2 tweek the turboxs stage 3 map soon though probly, either goin2 hav it tuned or try to find someone local to help me.

well ive got my car back from andrewtech and all i can say is wow. there might be a small transition from vacuum to boost but im lovin the fmic over the hyperflow v2 tmic. im just running the off the self txs stage 3 map with 16 psi and it feels much better then the same map w/hyperflow tmic at 17 psi. thanx to the guys at andrewtech, if i ever dont feel like tackleing a project my car is goin there. hopefully ill be able to save some money to get a set of PPG gears b4 i upgrade to a FP18G.

Jes, I just replaced those plastic clips this past weekend with screws aswell. Yea, it was a beotch for me to spot the trimmings on my bumper aswell. I had a hell of a time back in november when I did mine. Good to hear your FMIC is on and well. |
