New Bluetooth OBD-II Interface!!!

I thought you guys might be interested in checking this out for all your datalogging needs.

This company has developed a bluetooth based OBD-II scan box that can interact with pocket pc, palm, or a laptop and comes with its own scanning software called vitalscan. You can use it with any current utilities you use on your laptop as well as only the connection changes. Theoretically this should decrease the ms lag time you get during realtime datalogging because bluetooth is faster than serial.

I think this product has been out for quite some time now - a little hefty especially when SSM will do a much better job for Subarus instead of OBD-II (although OBD-II does have some functions that SSM don't provide). I think the lag is mostly because Subaru's ECU - I have heard that other cars can support faster update over OBD-II than our ECU

I thought about making the Tactrix Openport product Bluetooth based, but it just seemed to risky to be doing reflashes over Bluetooth. I've had plenty of problems with Bluetooth devices get dissociated on Media PCs. For logging Bluetooth could be reliable enough - but you definitely need it to do SSM... If the device just uses a Bluetooth to RS-232 IC with no reformatting of the data, it should be possible to use a logger like Tari with it. If it translates OBDII data on the device, you'd be out of luck...
