Default Accessport Stg 2 w/ new turboback question

I've had stage 2 now for about 4 months. I had been runnign it with just a helix uppipe and catless bosal downpipe mated to the stock cat+cat back.

I just got a custom exhaust from the bosal DP back installed and now the car if "backfireing"/stuttering a pit when engine braking or low rpms. I assume this is normal and the ECU will learn to tune it better shortly, but I want to make sure.

I have a race on sunday (auto-x) so if I need to drive it a lot to make the ecu learn I'd like to know now. If it something else, I'm going back to the shop tomorrow to pick up my old stock exhaust so I can have them look at stuff or what not.

also, I belive this is just the new pipes, but I smell burning. I smelled the same after the uppipe install, but it went away. I've only driving about 15 miles with the new exhaust (it was late when I got the car back...).

tia

You will have some popping or small back fires from removing the cats. And does your cat back have a resonator or not. If not then you will hear more of the popping or back fire. I like how mine sounds, I have no cats and no resonator. The smell is ok your just burning off the "new" so to speak. Plus the shop more than likely used some kind of spray (WD40, liquid wrench, PB blaster, etc,) to help loosen the bolts. And all that residue will burn off. It will eventually go away. If you want your ecu to learn faster do a Vishnu reset. I don't have the link do a search it will explain how. But everything you are explaining sounds normal.

Just do a reset. Unhook the battery, press on the brake pedal a couple of times, hook the battery back up and flash in your realtime map if your using one.

can't I just reset from the accessport?

I have 1 highflow cat (need 1 for racing) and no resonators. Sounds awesome, but maybe I bit too loud for where I live (downtown)

Yeah you can but it would be better to pull the neg. batt. cable and push on the brake pedal a few times to relieve the system of any elect. The vishnu reset is the very first sticky at the top of this forum. Read that it will explain this all to you.
