Default so i saw some sylvania silverstars at Autozone the other day.

are these any good?

i remember hearing the name "silverstar" when i was thinking about spending cash on bulbs a while back, but i dont think it was sylvania's silverstars that were getting all the rave reviews.

No. Please search through this forum for threads on Silverstars, you will find that the Sylvanias are not that highly regarded (not really more usable light, just more blue/white, and shorter life span than stock bulbs). For your 05 the bulbs of choice would be the Osram Silverstars (not the same, and not available in stores), Narva Rangepower, Philips Hi-visibility, and other similar bulbs that actually provide more usable light with the stock wattage and do not have a blue coating.

I've used them on a few cars, including my WRX. I think that they're better than most PIAA bulbs. They emmit a nice bright, clean, white light. I have heard of longevity issues, but never had any issues personally, or otherwise. If you take a peak on e-bay, you could probably score a pair for around $24 shipped. hope this helped a little

I use them, I know a lot of people on here don't like them but they give a much whiter light which is what I was looking for. Most people are looking for useable light but around DFW there's usually plenty of light provided by the city.

I like my Silverstars. So far the've lasted me 1 1/2 years and are still going strong. I don't know how much brighter they are, but I prefer white light on the road instead of yellow. I've got HID's in my Morettes and my foglights still provide 3/4ths of my forward lighting. I'm happy with my choice.
