I just put the combo in my 06 wrx

piece of cake w/ the scoobymods website instructions

only difference is getting the console out of the way is a bit different.

The 'surround' around the shifter pops right out - 2 screws under the console lid and 2 more under the shifter plastic surround and done

It didn't hit the metal cage thingie at all - it did on my friends 02 a bit
