Default Dummy check before I buy something.

v4 STI rear end. 4.44 Final drive. I am getting the R180 and axles. Do I need the hubs to comeplete the conversion? I won't be able to use my WRX rear brakes...correct? I noticed someone said the driveshaftshop makes r180 dif to r160 hub axles. If this is correct, could I take my old axles, and have the r180 spline put on them so they would work with the new r180?
Am I making sense?

Thanks.

well i installed a 6spd in my car.. w/ whole conversion including rear axles hub and diff, etc..i'm not too sure about 4.44 final drive. but.. if you wanna use 6spd r180 (3.900) final drive you have to change rear axle and hub or you could send it out to godspeed and have them install r180 ring and pinion for you.. check it out.. i'm not too sure.. about 4.44 final drive though.

I have a special 4.44FD 6mt. Hence why I have been searching high and low for a lagit 4.44 r180. The v4 came with one.

The seller doesn't understand I want the hubs.. so I was wondering if there was a way to get custom axles made to fit my old wrx hubs.

hm. get the proper hubs. r180 hubs from a GDB will increase your track about 15m in the back. gdb axels work on a gc8 as well- thts my setup.

the driveshaft has a issue with flange. check my faq

Nope, the hubs don't increase the track, the GD lateral links do.

the lateral links also increase the track.

the GDB hubs on my gc8 increased the distance from rear shock to inner tire enough to not require a wheel spacer which was previously required to clear the distance.

what is it called then, if not track? TEACH me somthing!
