Thats right, its that time of year again.
Thunderbird TSD Rally.
Its my personal favourite rally on the calendar!
Also the rally that started it all for rally great Pat Richard.

The Thunderbird Rally is a winter driving adventure through snow and ice covered back roads in the British Columbia interior. Following the Thunderbird route is simple, but staying out of the snow banks is not. This event is suitable for ordinary road cars. The Thunderbird Rally is a time-speed-distance (TSD) rally and a winter driving adventure. For 2006 it is the first round of three championship series: BC Rally Championship, Rallywest Navigational Championship, and the North American Vintage Rally & Race Association (NAVRRA) Rally Series.
This rally follows the current BC Rally Regulations, which are posted at http://www.rallybc.com/html/regional_rules.htm and are available from the BC Rally Director, Ken Kwong (ken@rallybc.com). The rally runs on straightforward instructions. In addition to the route instructions, maps will be provided. The rally will be about 800km long, entirely within the province of BC, and will start with an odometer check section of about 15km. Roads will be about 30% clear pavement, 70% snow-covered pavement and gravel. Instructions are provided in both kilometers and miles, but the official measurements and calculations are based on the kilometer figures

I so want to be there but sans lightbar would be no fun. If anyone has a good lightbar for an 04WRX let me know so that my 15yo daughter can follow her brother's footsteps into rallying.

Anyone who bets against her doing better than her brother is going to lose.

yeah, i need to wire in some lights to the car too
sad part about losing the legacy, having to redo all the things like lights

well hopefully you make it out!

Seriously, if any of you want to drive for hours and hours on really nice snow covered roads do it at T-Bird 2006. These are the best road conditions we've had for more than 5 years. The rain in Vancouver does countfor something.

I'm working on a lightbar for my 06...hopefully have it ready for checkpointing T-bird. If it works out, I'll let you know and maybe we can make a few.

Just so people don't get discouraged from entering - I did 4 T-birds with just stock Ford Focus headlights and it was super fun. Always wanted more light, but it didn't dampen the experience at all.

On another note.... I need some winter tires and wheels - anyone have some steelies or takeoffs with winter tread?

the scca sticker is cuz he bought the car from the usa
