Power Outlet
I just recieved my 01 GT Wagon. THis is my first Suby and I love it so far (4 weeks in). I read in the owners manual that there should be a power outlet in the rear. All I found was a hole with a plug, whrere it the outlet should be. The dealer tells me this an optional componet, that I have to pay extra for. I find this difficult to believe, sine teh GT's come practically loaded.
BTW - I am in Canada. I assume there are subtle differences between each countries releases.

Jim, I seem to recall the OutBack coming with the rear outlet. If yours came with the wiring the outlet should be relatively cheap! GT's Rock!!

I remember that being an option on the Legacy.

My 97 Outback LTD came standard with a 12V power outlet on the driver side rear wall, just behind the wheel hump.
Oh Yeah, anyone want to buy a 97 Outback LTD. Loaded with every single factory option and some not factory? My wife's Outback VDC just came in and we have to sell our Outback LTD in a hurry..... Only 67000KM on it, got lots of warranty left.. |

Hey Jim,
On the www.subaru.ca website, the list of Outback interior feature specifications includes the "Cargo area 12-volt Acc. outlet", but the Legacy list makes no mention of it at all. So I guess the dealer is being straight with you on this one. So it looks like you'll have to either pay the dealer to install it, or do what nuburu2 suggests and put it in yourself. Now if only your wife will let you drive it... Ottawa |
