Default Is there any way to know if I'll be able to get a car loan in a hurry?

I need a small loan for a car, I am worried my credit sucks,

Going through your bank maybe a good idea since they have a history on you. Since you are a member you are less likely to default on your loan.

This is assuming you are with a bank that is its own lending institution (i.e. Citi Bank, BankOne, Wells Fargo, etc)

I thought you could get a car loan no matter how bad your credit is.... just that you are going to pay something nasty in interest.

(or maybe that is just in this state)

yeah, they have brackets. depending on your fico score they place you in a bracket that determines your interest rate. the lowest bracket is probably 5-6%. the other brackets are not to be messed with though... it wouldnt hurt to call your bank or any other loan giving authority, see how they treat you and what they say.

<praises GM for 0% financing when he bought his car>
