Question KYB AGX's on 99 Legacy

This topic applies to Legacy owners who have put Impreza AGX's on there legacies.

I was curious if anyone who has done this mod remembers if there were washers on the front suspension pieces. I'm particulary refering to the spacer washers that is supposed to go in between the top part of the spring and the strut mount (factory part by diagram via the dealer).

I recently had a friend put these AGX's on my legacy for me and I have been having spring noises for a few weeks. I folded and took it to the guys at smart service and they suspect I missed putting the spacer washer on my front struts and that is causing my trouble. ANyone else remember these spacer washers on theirs... Neither I or my friend remember seeing them...I got some for dealer and they are rather large...woudl think we couldn't miss something like this but I suppose things can happen. Especially with my luck not being so good lately.

Anyone else forget to do this before on theirs? If so if you could describe how your car reacted that would be great. Not sure if I will hear anythign back on this or not but I figured I would try since I am bothering my friend again to take these boys off and check and I wanted to be 100% this third time through that I check everything when we are there.

My car is a 1999 Legacy L Sedan just FYI

You may need rubber isolators. I have kyb's on my wrx and have the same problem I was asking everyone but after calling the previous owner found this out. If you check out the universal section at energy suspensions youll find all the info you need. I'm not saying this is your exact problem but its a good place to start.

I figured this spot might get more notice... sorry pat... perhaps should have put it there... I read your headlight guide (interesting) you put AGX's on your Legacy and remember this spacer I speak of?

I forgot to put those washers in once when doing the AGXs on my 97 Impreza. It was immediately noticeable as memory steer. The wheel would not return to centre after going around a corner. The same happens to a lesser extent if the washer is upside down.

Talking

Wow! ... linsavy you get good marks with that comment. You nailed the issue I'm having with my steering dead on without me even saying what is happening on mine. I used the kit for the 93-01 impreza on my legacy.

I was hoping to get a comment on my exact issue and you delivered. Thank you

What side is 'upside down' on this spacer? Given I likelty don't have a referance on my car ATM

The washer was on but not in the proper spot... lesson learned... ALWAYS have a diagram because pictures always help
