Default swap done.. but i have a problem..help!

hi.. i just got my car back ..i have a 95 L with a jdm version 2 motor..

RUNNING A STOCK L fuel pump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the problem:

i really cant explain this fully since i just got my car back today..but when i was getting on the gas.. i cant seem to pass 4-5k rpms.. it jerks and feels like the car is gona die..feels like it fuel cuts?!?! what do u guys think is the problem? has anyone experience this yet? on jdm motors? i mean..motor feels good and tranny seems to be fine..can someone help me? im thinking about buying a walbro pump asap.. info would be apriciated..thanks in advance!

---got a new pump..walbro. still has the problem.. but does it less times it did before.. could it be my boost seloniod going bad? or my wastegate(actuator)?

becuase..i floord my car once and the boost gauge flapped to 20 PSI!!! its not suppose to go over 15ish psi.. and today i hit 18psi!

could it be overboost?

thinking about getting a manual boost controller..and try to test if my soleniod or the actuator is bad.. wut yah guys think? any suggestions? more ideas would be helpful.. i just want my baby to run fine and run safe..=(

---put in a mbc..im now set at 12 psi.. and it still does it on 4th gear.. im getting worried.. anyone have any more ideas? =(

the post could be a lil confusing.. but these are they post i made on a thread i made on RS25.com . i copied it hear to get more opinions and help on how to deal with this problem..

heres the link on the original thread by the way:

From what you told me on AIM sounds like you have a wiring issue. Make sure the CEL is wired correctly, it should be on when this is happening. Also make sure the ecu is getting a speedo signal from the cluster, if its not you will be in limp mod which cuts fuel at 4k.

if the car is just boosting to 20 then cutting you should check the action on you wastegate actuator rod. mine was in a bind with the body of the actuator. just tweak the braket a touch with some pliers. you should be able to move the rod with your hand to open the wastegate.

if your wastegate actuator is not the issue just throw in a gallon of zyline/zylol. with a full tank of gas. make sure that you mix it with a gallon or so of gas before you pour it in. i run this stuff it works pretty good. on 93 octane gas with 15-16 psi my motor knocks at like 5k rpm. but with this stuff in it it dosent.

after talking with him tonight i think he's got a MAP sensor problem. I seem to recall those older MAP sensors always going bad...is that correct?

Because the car is under greater load in 4th.

id do what they have suggested, i was gonna say that this has happened a bunch before to some guys on here, and then i realized they have all posted already. try what theyve suggested: check the MAP sensor, check the actuator, check your vaccum lines that go to and from the boost control, check the CEL and engine speed output, etc.

good luck!

I also have a JDM v2, and I have a similar problem I've been trying to figure out for two months now.

When it's still relatively cold, I can easily take it all the way up to red line, but after about 7-10 minutes of driving, it will start to cut out at exactly 4500 in any gear. I was chasing a boost leak for a while, but now I'm not so sure that's the problem. If I stay on the throttle, I watch the tach bounce between 4500 and 5000 without going any higher. I would think a leak would be more consistent, so I'm starting to lean towards an electrical problem.

I want to pull the CEL codes, but it seems that the CEL isn't connected to the right ECU wire. Does anyone happen to know where I can find a pinout diagram? It might be in the MY94 wiring manual I obtained, but it's all in Japanese, so I'm clueless. I just scanned it in yesterday if anyone who understands it can skim through and help me out:

like swapstar siad....i am pretty sure those usdm ones wont work b/c b4 i purchased them i looked into getting some usdm ones and on my friends 04 wrx......they look diff.

the usdm ones like more like blocks, and the JDM ones look kinda like a layerd wedding cake....lol( more roundish!

if i can think of anything else that could be ur problem i will let you know.

its sounds like the ECU isn't gettign a vehicle speed signal, you need to figure out what wire coming from the cluster is the vehicle speed signal wire(if the speedo was mechanical to begin with)
