Default Looking into swap with some questions..

So ive started out reading about the whole swap process and it really is looking like a sweet idea. I currently have an 02 wrx and i am tempted to try to do a swap with my wrx parts into a 00ish 2 door rs (i wanted a 2 door to begin with and the better handling characteristics with the 400ish lb lighter weight does sound sweet). my first question is are there any reasons why i shouldnt try such a swap? am i just crazy to want to get rid of my wrx? secondly, since i already have all the donor parts to make the swap, has anyone had any experience with taking the wrx motor and its associated parts out and then selling the body. how much could such a sale net and would it be feasable? im really into this idea as i really like the gc8 body style, and i guess what i am getting to from this post is try and tell me why i would be crazy to do such a thing. i am somewhat new to cars but i have gained a lot of experience lately from installing random (but simple) parts like my TBE and new brake job, and i view the swap as a huge learning experience. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

umm. perhaps buy a smashed WRX. why would you throw away a perfectly good 2002 bodyshell to put a weaker motor into a GC8?

why dont u cut a lot of weight on your WRX? it would be a lot easier to do than scrapping the car and swapping it. there are sub 2900 lb WRX's running around the streets.

the GDA chassis is great. my 2600 lb GC8 pushes the same power as a stage um lame american term "3" wrx, but it flexes alot in comparison. i have to left off on the throttle on some really rough sections a GD chassi would just tank through.

all rally drivers who are serious campaign GD chassis now. the GC simply cant keep up. THAT says somthing to me. perhaps get some lightweight parts (not cheap, but cheaper than throwing away a perfectly good car). and see ifu can get the weight to 2850 or so. THAT would be a fun car to drive. and hellaciously fast.

2800 lb GD > 2600 lb GC.

im trying to brace the hell outa mine now. going to foam my chassis to try to stop the flex.

i'm not saying to not build a GC8 into a REAL wrx. if you want to do that, get a L, a front clip, and have some fun.
