Default dumping the subaru 360 project

I'll get pics, but I won't lie....it's a TON of fabrication work.

I'm just curious if anyone wants a massive project that could someday be a pretty sweet autox car.

specs.

Subaru 360 body (very, very, very rusty), just bondo and make a mold.
VW beetle chassis with trans and 1600 dual port engine, with kennedy adapter, WRX motor. already shortened the 25 inches needed.

I've also got 4 rear shocks from yamaha street bikes that are double adjustable with adjustable spring perches. The idea was that the spring rates are 500 lb/in and double adjustable shocks for custom A-arm suspension.

I've got 2 miata hubs (front)
I've got 2 CRX front hubs (rear drive, need custom CV)

probably a bunch of other stuff, including EJ mockup engines...

inspiration came from kimini project http://www.kimini.com

i've found something else, that will be a bit easier project, and it's a car I've liked for a while.

I guess this could be considered a for sale ad.

yeah, I'll take it.

the new love (I'm fickle) is a 1966 datsun roadster. If I don't get it, then back to the 360 project.

I was wondering which one you'd pick. Though I was betting on the second porscharu. Good luck with the roadster.

Porscharu II isn't mine to trade.

I'd never part with Porscharu I.

duh.

Been wanting a small convertible for a while...kinda lusted after them, but figured they were pretty much unobtainable. then one kinda falls into my lap. I need to buy it now, and unload the 360...even if I part all the stuff out, and scrap the shell.

if I can sell it, it will be like 200 bucks for everything. i'll lose on it (as i've got like 400 bucks of stuff), but that's kinda okay.

Let me know if you end up getting the roadster. I have access to quite a selection of parts.

I wish I was...I'm allowed to go look, but I can't buy. so, do I go take a look anyway and hope it's a car I'd walk away from? or do I go and find out that it's an easy fix and I'd be on the road next week in a good solid roadster that needed a brake bleed and an engine assembly (which is what it needs) and I still have to walk away. I'd cry then, or just start the divorce defense proceedings, and then cry more.

Ouch. Walk away, keep working on the 360. There could always be a better chance down the road for a Datsun.

Hey, you could prep the 360 for the 2006 Challenge, but before heading to FL, try to sell it on eBay for $8000 Would that make a Datsun roadster a better proposition?

probably not...I'm thinking about taking what I can off of the 360 and dumping it. sell all the parts I bought for it, and focus on porscharu.

there's a 914 porscharu in my future too.

I need a new job.

words cannot contain the disappointment I feel. An unfinished project is a failure.

Failing sucks.
