Default AP Stage 2 Question

Before you fry me.. i didnt find all that much in the search and didnt want to go through 1000 pages...

Ive got a catless uppipe and spt catback at the moment but i will be getting an AP soon and would like to go stage 2.

I had a catless downpipe on but it was really droning as well as yellowing up my bumper every couple days and i dont want the hassle.

I cant really afford a catted DP right now so i am curious if i could just put on an STI downpipe and flash stage 2 and still get some serious performance gains... anyone have any experience with this?

If this wouldnt work, couldnt i just put on my old erz catless downpipe and go back to a stock catback for stage 2?

What about a shorty DP that just replaces the 2nd cat and leave the 3rd cat intact?

The STi DP will not work. It will work with the stock cat-back on. Once you get the AP reflash, that might solve your carbon build up problem. If not, your muffler could simply be too close to your bumper. Buy some kartboy exhaust hangers, they drop the exhaust down a good bit. I bought them to avoid melting my bumper and carbon build up...I've never noticed any type of debris on the bumper, but my car is blue.

I have been running a shorty catless DP (Bosal twin dump) with the stock 3rd cat, and it's been fine with Cobb Stage 2. No issues and the car pulls.

I was looking at the bosal twin dump or the stromung shorty pipe so ill go that route..

I tink that is the way to go, the erz dp i had brought my exhaust flush with the bumper, caused some melting, even with long hangers, the fitment was off. Strange i had couple diff catbacks on and they mated/fit perfect with the erz dp... something about that spt system it just doesnt like

But i love the sound of it so the dp had to go for the time being.
