Default IMPORTANT - please read. Donation Money...

G'morning everyone. I'd just like to thank everyone that donated money on Thursday.

In consultation with the rest of the i-club exec, we'd still like to help out Mirage because of the unfortunate incident @ the auto-x recently, but this is YOUR money that you've donated. We are not about to use something that is not ours. What we've decided is three options for you to choose:

a) Give 100% to the Red Cross for disaster relief
b) Split 50-50 between the RC and Mirage
c) 100% to Mirage.

I am not going to be posting how much each person donated, but Orbiter and I will be contacting all those of you who donated and finding out how you wish your money to be put to use.

For those of you who've donated, please email me how you would like your money to be split. Don't PM me because it'll probably get filled up too fast! Also, don't ask me to split things up 90-10 because that's too much work for me.

So please let us know ASAP - I've set a hard deadline by noon Friday. The sooner the better.

LaterZ!
Darren!!

ps - not too late to donate either!

Default I don't want to confuse people....

Originally, we planned the donation meet to help Ken M. (a.k.a. Mirage) out, but because of the World Trade Centre incident, Ken felt that the money should go to that instead. The i-club exec still want to help Mirage out so we're leaving up to those who donated to tell us where they want their money to go. I'll reiterate it again:

Options:
a) 100% to the Red Cross for the WTC incident
b) 50-50 split between the Red Cross and Mirage
c) 100% Mirage.

AGAIN, FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DONATED, PLEASE TELL ME WHERE YOU WANT YOUR MONEY TO GO!!! You can email me directly - darrengi@sfu.ca. No need to post here unless you have a question.

LaterZ!
Darren!!

Well... technically only 1 state of the 52 is in trouble, and the other 51 is already trying to help out.

Lot's of people wants to donate blood, but the US don't even need blood from us because so many people have done so in the US, US even told their own people to stop giving blood as they have too much...

And the government has already split some more $ to the places/people in need.

So our money donated to Red Cross (if we do) may never get to WTC area because they're refusing most types of donations... rather RC might keep it for themselves...

Just my thoughts on human nature...

So I say we still put it to Mirage's account

yes, please email to me how you want your donations to be handled. This way, I have my own record of how people want their donations used -- it's a paperwork issue for me, that's all.

LaterZ!
