Default 2006 STI Snow Tires / Rims- A little help please

Hello,

I just picked up a 2006 STI yesterday and this thing is great! I got lucky because we had some 60 degree weather last evening in Chicago, but this weekend we're supposed to get between 3 and 7 inches of snow so obviously I need to deal with snow tires ASAP. I see that tirerack has specials for the 2005 STi, but will these work for the 2006 model year as well? Same bolt pattern and all?

If not, would someone please give me some advice on an inexpensive tire/rim setup for the winter? I'm trying to save money on the rims but I have never owned aftermarket rims and I'm not really sure where to look for rims that will fit the STI's huge brakes. That and I really need to order this today and don't have enough time to just figure this out on my own. Thanks!

Try just calling the Tire Rack and see what they can set up for you (tell them you'e light on cash).

Alright I left a message for Luke... I'm really hoping I can order these today so the car doesn't have to sit lifelessly in the garage for any longer than it has to!

Damn it just started snowing right now! The irony!

I bought a set of "used" (i.e. 40 miles total) STi stock rims (they are cheap on NASIOC) and put some good winter tires on them. It was cheap, and I ended up with some amazing rims that fit perfectly.

FYI: yes, the 2005STi wheels are identical to the 2006STI wheels.
