spring rates: stock/whiteline???
OK... so through my searching I have found the following spring rates:
Stock RS - F157 / R149 Whiteline Select - F190 / R150-170 does anyone know what the 97-99 Legacy GT spring rates are?? and if the above ##'s are correct... I assume the GT would have greater rates than the RS due to the extra ~250lbs. If the Whitelines are 190/150-170 ... that isn't much more than stock, right? people say they are stiff - and I don't want something too stiff... but they also seem like the only choice for sub 1" drop comments, sugestions?? thanks - Chad

Chad,
Here is a direct quote from Whiteline RE their spring rates: "All our coils are about 25-30% stiffer than the original springs." Hope that helps, Doug |

I assume those WhiteLine numbers are for the Impreza application? I'm in the process of ordering some "wagon-specific" Select springs, and assume the Legacy application to be as stated "25-30% over stock" with minimal drop. Dale Teague may be able to give you actual ratings.

Thanks for the input... does anyone have Dale's email addy?
and - does anyone have experience running the Select springs? I have read some reviews, although a limited number of them, and the consensus is that the Whitelines are stiffer than the Eibachs - and comparable to the H&R's, but with less drop than either. (if I remember correctly) anyway - I have AGX's sitting in my closet, and I "think" I want some springs, as it has been advised not to run AGX's with stock springs, and I want the 1" drop for looks... I just want to do this once, and don't want to dammage my kidneys or anything so I am trying to be as informed as possible thanks again -Chad |

When I asked Whiteline how stiff the springs are (and got the response I posted above), I was inquiring about springs for a Legacy Wagon not an Impreza.
