Default Those who have gone from AP stage 2 to Protune

What was your first impression when you drove your car post Protune? Did you really notice the difference? Was it really worth spending $300+?

Please post your impression and improvement it has made.

Thanks

I got Protuned yesterday by Doug from Topspeed. I think it was worth it. I have a Cobb stage 2 WRX. Since moving to stage 2, I thought I occasionally heard some knock during throttle tip-in while boost was building. I live in Kansas City, and 91 octane (a few stations have 92) is the highest available. I'd tried both the normal stage 2 map 91 octane map and the California 91 map with similar results. Doug tuned out the knock... the car makes more power, it's smoother, and it probably won't blow up nearly as soon.

Changes like stage 2 or 2.5 are big power increases over stock. It's nice to have someone knowledgeable tune the car and verify results rather than guessing with off-the-shelf maps.

Midrange torque gain is huge. Before the car was tame and not worth takiing up high RPM. Now it just keeps pullin'

Just get it done.

I noticed the difference right away ... It's hard not too ... On top of which, in the money vs. hp department, you can't beat beat it for a cheap mod with great results ...
