Default Anyone using downloadable PDX maps?

Heard there are AP maps available on PDX website for $150. Has anyone tried their map?

Not quite - you call them up, tell them your exact mods, and they make a map for you - so its somewhere inbetween a protune and cobb's off the shelf maps. I got myself one the other day - and I will say this much, it is worlds smoother. Boost comes on alot faster, smoother, hits 16.4psi on the nose every time. As far as power, it seems more on tap and noticeably improved - although I have no dyno results to back this up. For someone like me where I cannot get a custom tune any time soon (I live in a college town) it was the way to go, and I can say for $150 it is well worth it.

Can people exchange maps online or it's car specific (AP serial#)?

its car specific - you need the serial number off your AP

Since PDX map is more aggressive than Cobb map, shouldn't it affect the reliability of engine? is it as safe as Cobb map?

i wouldn't necessarily say it's more aggressive, rather it's more specific for your modifications.

to a certain extent though, you're right. engines certainly wouldn't break if they were run at 10:1 and a flat 12* of timing across the board. problem is, they wouldn't be any fun either.

I have an AP and custom tune on order from them right now. I had a tuned UTEC but was constantly having issues and decided to sell it and try a different "set it and forget it" EMS. I have FP green, FMIC and PE800's and they already have a map that they have built from an exact setup prior.

I'll keep you posted on how it performs compared to a dynotuned UTEC.

I ordered mine today. PDX was dead against using aftermarket header on any WRX. He didn't seem too knowledeable about WRX though...

I will keep you posted. My mods are pretty much stage 2 with an addition of Borla header and Perrin uppipe/pulley.

when PDX map is used as a base map, can other AP maps like valet, economy, regular stage 2 map be used as a realtime map?
