is the 06 wrx's motor an ideal motor for high power? like the STi?

i guess my question is kinda vague but if u were to do all this stuff like gt35r turbo kit with all supporting mods and get it dyno tuned it would pull off number close to if not same to the STi theoretically no?

if you put a gt35r on a wrx is gonna be a hell of a lot better than an STi

Classic nasioc newbie post.

The compreson ratios of the WRX's are slightly higher.

A reliable bottom end is slightly more of an issue but the same potential is there.

IMO

Asking for proof at this stage is very expectant.

Like right now im having a dilemma between deciding on getting a built motor with a gt35r kit and all the drivetrain mods such as gearset, axles, and diffs and having a full on 400-500whp daily driver/weekend track car, or getting an 06 wrx and building that up gradually.

I just want to know if i were to put a gt35r turbo kit with all supporting mods and some sort of either meth or alki injection and get it dyno tuned professionally will it put out the #'s that STi's would put out with the same mods? I know there are a whole bunch of factors but i want to know if the 06 wrx motor is capable of whatever the STi motor is. sorry if this was a thread jack but rather not start another thread, it does still relate to the topic at hand.

Short answer:

Power wise, yeah, they are going to be basically a wash.

The rest of the car wise?

Get an STi

....d00000d...if ya want a FAST car....get a LIGHT one ta start....like a '96 L....~2600 pounds....and throw in a v5 drivetrain and a tweaked out motor.....and stop playin around with that RS ya got...it 'aint worth the trouble.
