Default hla-> mecha lifter conversion.

this question applies specifically to EJ20G.

has anyone converted a EJ20G HLA to a EJ20G mecha v2 sti ra? i have a Sti RA head sitting and am wondering if anyone has a Ej20G with hla sitting so we can comepare measurents (or if local fit stuff up) and try this out.

if possible (i dont put it past subaru to do somthing like this, you could have a v2 RA spec (without the forged pistons) for not that much money.

Do you need the HLAs for measure or mechanical type? I have 96EJ25D HLAs that should be the same smaller diameter than the later heads.

Going the other way...anyone with EJ33 HLAs have measurements so I can see if they match the shim-type DOHC EJ25 heads?

To my understanding, the solid lifter conversion for the EJ20G's is specific that that engine family. The '97 and later components don't backdate into those heads. The only components you could use would be '94-96 solid lifters. I am pretty sure MRT makes a kit, and it is pretty pricy. But if you have RA v2 lifters, I am pretty sure they would work. But don't trust me, find an Aussie on the MRT board that has done it...

Storm,
Are the 3.3l HLA's with the little stub rockers like the '89-94 Legacy EJ20G's? I have one of those in the garage....

I don't think so. They had a diameter larger than the early types had. I picked up a couple 3.3 HLAs to replace some questionable ones in a 96EJ25 head...but they were way bigger....I didn't measure them but they appear to be the same size as the 97-98 shim-type EJ25 adjusters.
