I could use a little help figuring out what rim/tire sizes I'm limited to and have available.
I'm going to have kind of a rare setup.... 98 Impreza Outback STi. I need to find wheels before the swap happens so I have a way to drive it home. Help?

I run different sets of Brembo clearing welfare issue Rotas in 17x7.5 ET48 exclusively on my 97 L wagon. My setup requires me to clear the fenders too as I have the wider GC track. I'm on JDM GC WRX struts/shocks with a circa 1.5" drop all around.
ET53 Brembo clearing OEM STi rims should work fine too if you don't mind being a hair off the rear struts. |

Nice, i was hoping that rim size would do the trick.... how wide of tires could I go? Probably only 215's?

Since you have the normal GF track, I would say that 215/45's would be a safe choice.
Oops, meant to say in my earlier post that I have the wider GD track... not GC track. I rub severely with 205/50-17 KDW2 summers... that is with the fenders rolled! I rub a little with 205/40-17 Falken RT-615's... can't get a narrower/shorter street "performance" tire in 17". My 205/50-17 Dunlop M2 winters rub a little as well. What kind of STi swap are you considering? |

V8 all the way through...
Now I have to figure out if it's worth buying snow tires, all seasons, or going straight for performance tires. I imagine I'll be driving this car by March... hrm. |
