Talking I-club "relief" Tshirts!!!!!

ok guys here's the deal...

our first shot at tshirts is going to be incorporated into a relief fund for the victims and families involved in last weeks tragedy... we want to be a positive part of the community and display that we do care and we want to do what we can....

an undetermined % of all proceeds will be donated to the red cross.... *edit % as we are unsure*

INTERESTED???? anyone????

to make this happen, we need YOUR help...

we want to incorporate the I-club logo, the U.S. flag, and the saying, "United we Stand" into a t-shirt....

this will be a small logo on front, large picture and saying on the back -

**one idea would be to incorporate the swooshies on the car in the logo into the stars and stripes!! ya see?? something like that...**

so all you designers have a go at this!! get on it!
we want to have these made up NOW!!

design your "I-club - United We stand" t-shirt...
and if your idea is chosen, a FREE shirt will be on your doorstep as soon as they are prepared!!!

post your responses, ideas here....
remember, we want to do this ASAP!!! so get on it!!!

Lightbulb

there are 10,000 members here....

if we all pitch in.. and yes.. even at $20 per shirt...
that's a lot of $....

5% doesnt sound like much, but it all depends on the interest... if there is not much interest, and not much for sales, we will put more of the $ into the relief fund...

if there's huge interest and every friggin I-club member buys a shirt, we'll have a huge amount to donate!!

up to you guys really... we are aiming at selling a LOT of shirts guys!!

we need designs...
and we need your support to make it work!

I'm interested in buying a shirt...I don't have any design abilities though. Check with Dirt Man (by PM), he works as a graphic artist and designs t-shirts for a living. I'm sure he could help out.

Gotta agree 5% doesn't sound like much. Now something like 50% of the profits(if not 100%) makes more sense.

Wink

regardless... we cant do any of this until we have designs... *wink* *wink*

then when we see how much interest there is... (real, commited interest) we can decide on how much to donate! we want to make a difference - that's the idea....

I designed the current i-club logo and i'd be happy to have a go at designing this. I don't have much free time, but if you could wait a couple of days it should be okay...

I say if this is an honest relief support effort 100% of the profit should go to the Red Cross. You know we''ll buy "regular" I-club merchandise in the future regardless of us buying these shirts so no money would be lost to I-Club. Otherwise I'll just donate directly to the Red Cross so they get the remaining 95%.

Oh,.. and I think the original logo designer should do the design, he's got skills!

And now, for my 1000th post:

I think this is one of those scams they talked about on the news. People are trying to take advantage of the tragedy in New York for their own benefit.
Warning! Warning!

Okay, of course I'm just joking. But 5% is kind of weak. I'll pass on the t-shirt and just donate the amount I would've spent on the shirt.

$20... if it's a 3-4 color shirt front & back printed, I think you're looking at like $14/shirt (in the low quantites we're looking at here). Add in $4 shipping (USPS priority) and you're looking at a $2 profit. Granted that is 10%, but they can't go completely empty-handed for making all this work. 5% sounds just fine, $1/shirt. If you wanted to donate more, go elsewhere where they are holding full-out fundraisers.

Angry

That's right guys... we're trying to scam you all... we're trying to rip off all the members and steal money from the mouths of people that need it. We're just awful people!

I'm sorry... but you guys really dissapoint me sometimes. I don't understand how you can call us liars and gripe about the amount when were only trying to help.

Doing stuff like this cost money... I wish we could donate it all, but that's just not an option. Once we get real quotes for the shirts then we can figure out how much we can really send to RedCross.

At this point I'm just sad you guys don't have a little more faith in us. Yeah like the people who have DONATED more money and time to this club than ANYONE are trying to steal your money. Thanks guys...appreciate it... make me really want to work hard for you today.

Deeply saddened, and very stressed right now!

I'd buy one (or two or three...)

Nick et al, ignore the whiners. They don't understand that it costs you money/time to print and ship the shirts in the first place

Amen sister funky rice burner BruceLee!

No need to strees Nick, we just want to make sure the numbers are worked out. Either way you cut it the original 5% estimate sounds low. You guys should see if any print shops are willing to work cheaper for the cause as well. Just let them know you're trying to maximize the return so more money goes towards the relief efforts.

I didn't call anyone a liar, or say that you're trying to scam anyone. If I'm going to pay 20 dollars for something related to helping these poor people, I don't want just a couple dollars to go towards the cause. I'd rather them have all the money.

Qty of 100 at a normal place we're looking at $9/shirt, $200 fee for seperating the colors, $25/color screen setups, $25 min for layout, $8/color for ink mixing. Trust me, it adds up QUICK.

Even then you have to consider that it may not be affordable by whoever is making the original purchase so that they can be sold in that quantity, so maybe they'll go lesser quantity first off.

It's nuts how much they are when you're the average Joe trying to get shirts made. :-/

Then you may as well have not said anything. If you want 100% of your money to go to the charity, you don't buy merchandise.

Go to the Red Cross and give them the $20 you would have spent on the shirt and be done with it

That's what I said I was going to do. I'm sure I'm not the only one with that opinion on this board. I'm sure that whoever is going to print the shirts wants to know who's not going to do it as well. I don't see what the problem is.

Would it be possible to just have a regular I-Club shirt without all the "relief effort" stuff?

I'd love to have an official i-club shirt, but I'm not too keen on buying one that has all that WTC Relief Effort stuff on it. I have no problem with 5% going to charity, in fact it is a good idea. I just think you would sell more shirts if they did not have the relief stuff. Now that I've stated my point at least a half dozen times, I'll stop.

I'd like one in black if possible, I have 800,000,001 white tshirts and only 3 black ones.

How about if the shirts costs say $20-25 etc with whatever % going to charity, we offer a second option of sending in $35 with the extra $10-15 going straight to charity on behalf of IClub minus paypal charges etc? Just an idea for those complaining about this EFFORT.

I will work on some graphics but I'm sure someone else can do something better. I have all the pro tools required and will try to do something tonight after work. As soon as you have someone who is definately doing the logo let me now so I can stop, etc.

Take care,

And again your work Nick,Alex's, subiegals, moderators, etc go unapreciated all too often.
