Default Shim over bucket to Shimless swap?

Does anyone know if there is a way to change shim on bucket to shimless?
Are they the same diameter at all?
Anyway to increase RPM range of shim on bucket?
I need more revs!
But I don't need my heads flippin coins.

98 legacy GTs N/A cams. They have shim on buckets, and I'm scared to over-rev.

easy, theres this thing called standalone ecu.....

to answer the original question, you can change to under bucket shim or shimless. stop by your subaru parts deparmetn (or go online to subaruparts.com) and pull up the diagrams for the 2002 wrx and a 2005 wrx head parts. the newest ej205 is shimless, the valves and keepers and such should be the same, so if you look at two diagrams.....

I got those heads in my garage. Are you sure they didn't have any problems?

But there are a number of guys who have taken DOHC EJ25 heads to 7500rpms with 20+psi of boost without issues. The Ej25 heads are very similar to '97-98 EJ20 heads and the shimless conversion for them will work on your heads if you insist. MRT sells the kit off their website. I haven't looked in a while, but it is expensive...

There are about 30 or so part numbers for the shimless buckets. You might want to measure some stuff before you purchase.

NAh, Just buy 16 of each different part number. You should be good to go.
