What do you have for fuel management right now? Stock ECU?

If your car is acting weird, instead of complicating things by adding more stuff, you should find the root of your problems first before you proceed.

There's no point trying to add more numbers together when you cannot figure out what the original problem is.

Go to a Subaru mechanic, pay them money to find out what's wrong...THEN continue modifying the car.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

^that's true but it could just be that his car is acting 'wierd' because he has quite a few exhaust mods without any proper engine management.. As for which to go with, gotta support the local business and go up to rocket rally

It's really easy to get there too, just take hwy 1 up towards whistler, hop on the sea to sky and then turn left on Industrial/Finch (the lights right after you pass a Tim Hortons), then you take a left at the stop sign at the end of the street, go around the bend and take your first right turn into their parking lot.

Head up to Squamish to Rocket, get tuned by the best and support a local Canadian company.

hey like amarpauld said, its easy to find us. www.rocketrally.com has the address

But in all honesty, if your car is not running right, and not knowing your mod history, here are a few tips

1) ANY 99 and later turbo subaru with less restrictive exhaust, and especially if up-pipe and down-pipe, will have boost fluctuation issues without other supporting mods

2) ANY "" subaru with an aftermarket intake WILL run "incorrectly" REGARDLESS of the claims of the vendor about it being 'compatible'

3) Any "" subaru with modified boost control lines, restrictors, pills, solenoids, NBC will have boost issues

4) Lots of cars with proper EM still have problems with respect to leaks, coils, bad plugs, bad gas, or any combination of the above.

5) any combination of 1-4 makes things very bad

You need to identify what is 'weird' and fix it, then think about EM. Unless you are positive it is the lack of EM.

And finally, even if you get EM, if it is something from category 4, it still will not be fixed. I won't even start on how many cars we've seen for CTs that have "other" problems to begin with.

Getting an AP and blindly putting it on will not help you here... neither will a generic reflash.

P.S. If you have a cat you will pass aircare with a flash assuming your car doesn't have other issues. If you dont have a cat, you will fail regardless of what is in the ECU.

Thanks to my car's last owner, he modded it to beat an evo8 and then sold the car after he messed it up. stupid me not knowing that, (who would considering it was from Richmond Subaru) i bought it, thinking it was all "stock"... but as you can tell its not.... i had no idea what was modded when i got it.

so what do i do? do i just come up there or should i make a appointment? im free monday & tuesday only....

If you do a search, Richmond Subaru is notorious for being idiots Oh well, nothing you can do now right.

You should e-mail Jamie AT rocketrally.com and get an appointment setup. Just find out the problem THEN replace the EM.

yes, if you have the OEM downpipe still in place. you will have a slight boost fluctuation but its so small you probably wont notice it without a computer.

You only need to do a resistor mod on up-pipes that dont have an EGT tap, or if you've removed the EGT probe and replaced it with an EBP.

Just doing UP should help you slightly with spool and top end, just doing this without any EM should be ok as per above.

Not really. One of Pat's custom tunes is probably one of the more expensive things you'll pay for in the grand scheme of modding the car - but at the same time, it's the one with the most benefit / bang for your buck...

The Dyno rates are a better deal than you will pay on any AWD dyno in seattle or portland, or toronto, or montreal, despite it being the higher end dyno...

A basic reflash costs less than (new of course - these are other things we also sell so its not like I'm trying to push the flash, just put it into perspective):

- a quality turbo back
- a quality turbo
- a quality intercooler
- a decent set of rims
- a set of high performance tires
- etc. etc.

which most people getting the reflash already have...

Feel free to email if you have any questions !
