Unhappy How to take the door apart?

My power locks are broken and I need to take my drivers door apart. Does anybody know how to fully disassemble a GC drivers door? I need to get at the lock solenoid.

15 seconds 2 screws and pull. It really is THAT simple

Take off the plastic trim ring on the handle...

Unscrew the single screw in the little compartment on the arm rest...

Take out that panel (unplug)

Unscrew the only other visible screw

Pop off the panel, lift up...

and done

The Audio etc Forum has a number of threads on this, since the folks there need to get at the speakers in the doors.

Yep! Follow those instructions listed above... it's very easy!
I've taken apart all four of my doors for the stereo install I did, and honestly the hardest part was the wiring!

Taking the door panels apart and putting them back together is a snap.

LOL, I know how to remove the door panel. The car has a $5000 stereo installed in it. My problem is that my power locks seem to be broken. By everything I can find I have isolated it to the solenoid in the drivers door. I see the wires going into the door but its impossible to see where they go. Everything I can see on the actual metal part of the door appears to be welded together but there must be some way to get at the solenoid. The cars a 97 impreza by the way.

Wowzah... $5k on the stereo??? I'd be curious to see what you've done to the engine...

But I dunno what to tell you... Maybe unbolt the door from the frame completely to see if there are any plates in the middle of the door holding it together? Or maybe an access panel is somewhere out of view?
