anyone know the exact diff, between the GC(wrx) and GD crossmembers. i did my swap and i su[osedly got a gc cross member, but the front crontroll arm bracket was about 1/2 inch to wide.
sorry if this belongs in susp. forum. also could comeone post up pic. of both of them for comparison. thanks kirill

If it is too wide, it's a GD x-member. Go to the hardware store and get some shims to put in there. I am pretty sure Squeech includes the measurements in his write up on his cardomain site...

![]() Top: 2004 STi Bottom: 92 Legacy Turbo Depending on the year of the Impreza/Legacy it's coming out of there is a difference in the way the sway bar mounts. I believe the cut off is -97 for bolt/tab and 98+ for bolt/nut. |

Good point. If you are using a USDM WRX member, you need the sway bar and mounts to go with it...

so the 98+ lgy member will be a direct replacement in the RS and you can use a WRX sway bar?

yeah, its a gd x-member. i already thought about the washers, and thats what im going to do.
and yeah, i got the sway bar with it. and my x-member had a weird brace on it, it was all stock looking and just connected to 3points total. anyone know if that is on all the gd x-members or sti, ect... thanks of the pic. ![]() |

Depends on the brace. If it was on top of the jacking plate it was only on 04 STi, if it was part of the jacking plate it's on all 05+ Impreza. That doesn't apply to jdm though.
