Question Cobb AP Stage 1

Hey i JUST got the AP and loaded the stage 1 and it was awesome. Felt the difference right away. Since then (3 weeks ago), i had my car at subaru for some diagnostic service and they reset the ecu. My question is: When you reset the ECU, is the map still working or does it resort back to stock settings?

Anyone use the boost guage feature on it? At first it was pulling to .1 on the lamco guage and not its barely hitting .09 like it was at stock? Problems i should worry about or is it all good?

Thanks
Chris

It depends what they meant by "reset". If they simply disconnected the battery or forced the ECU to lose learned parameters, you'll still have your stage 1 base map. If, however, they flashed a Subaru ECU program, they would have completely replaced the Cobb map.

As a test, you could try switching realtime maps with the AccessPort (change to a 91 octane realtime map or something). If it works, you're still running the Cobb base map. If it doesn't work, the dealership probably flashed a different ECU program. I hope it works... if your ECU is running a Subaru program, it won't know it's "married" to the AccessPort any more, but your AccessPort will still think it's married to the ECU. If that's the case, I think it would be difficult to do anything with the AccessPort.

I can't believe you didn't bring the AP with you! I take mine almost everywhere with me.

On a serious note, let me know how things work. I've been concerned with them doing something like that when I bring mine in for service. I haven't had to bring it in since installing the AP, but I'm tempted to simply unmarry it before bringing it in to be on the safe side.

Alright yea no problem, hey does anyone know the weight to power loss ratio. I got a couple subs in my trunk and was wondering its really gonna make it that much slower. I had another kid in the car with me and we raced my other friend with an 02 (catback and bov) and he beat me by 1 cl up to 90 from 20. Hmmmm

I only used the boost guage to determine if I needed to change the maps between the wategate duties. Other than that the plug tended to get caught in the way and it didn't seem very secure.

That's what I used it for as well. I plan to use it every now and then to make sure I'm still boosting where I should be, since I don't have a boost gauge installed right now.
