i guess you arent getting answers because what you are doing doesnt make sense. The AP is far superior over the UTEC.

My question is do i have to take off the cobb accessport map from the ecu before i install my utec? please enlighten me. I am just learining here

Buy a streettuner and you can do the same thing. If you research, UTEC utilizes a MAP vs a MAF system and is a little different, though it is hard to say that one is better than the other. Although you can tune without any additional software, its irrelevant if you dont know what you are doing. If you cant read your data logs, having access to your fuel and timing curves is pointless

But to answer your question, yes you need to remove your AP before installing the UTEC. Simply plug in your accessport and unmarry the unit from your ECU following the directions in your manual

I would probably unmarry the AP before using the UTEC to be safe.

You can run AP under the UTEC. Just remember if the AP is scaled for larger injectors than the UTEC will not need injector scaling. The AP is just like running an EcuTek under a UTEC. The UTEC will control timing and fueling as normal once over the TPS crossover.

And folks remember that apart from a couple of features all aftermarket EM's do the same sort of thing. They allow you to change the stock params. It's the tuning that produces the power, not the different EM. Of course some allow easier control than others.

where do you get this info from?

anyway...i would clear the ap from the ecu (un-marry like that one guy said) if you are going to use the utec. unless you know what you are doing. you can use both if you wanted too
