Default Inmobilizer

Hi,
I wonder if someone can help me with the following
A friend is selling me his EcuteK reflashed ECU, his car is exactly like mine, the ECU numbers are the same, but we are having problems with the exange because of the car's inmobilizer. My car with his ECU installed won't start.....is there any chance of making it work?? Is there a way to "baypass" the inmobilizer??

You can take one of his spare keys and hide it under your dash. Or you can go to the dealership and pair his ECU with your car.

My car is a Subaru Impreza WRX 2003. If I hide one of his spare keys under my dash, won't the inmobilizer get confused by the two codes (his key under the dash and my key trying to start the car??

I didn't know 2003 WRXs has immobilizers.. And no, your car will just look for the right key. Your key with mechanically turn the ignition cylinder and the spare key will let the ECU know you have a correct key. It should be fine but I'm still confused that you have an immobilizer. Worst case scenario is you make a new key to start the car with and keep your friend's spare key under the steering wheel. Should probably flatten the teeth of your friend's key or cut it off completely if you do this.

The correct way would be to go to the dealer and get this sorted out though.
