Default WCRA - TSD Rally Fun Run Workshop - Sept 29

As many of you have requested - here is the fun run as promised.

This info brochure and entry form is posted at http://www.rallybc.com/html/2001_nov....html#funevent

Let's see a big turnout from the I-club! WCRA is offering i-club members a $5.00 discount on this event.

Here is how to get the discount:
1) send in your entry form ( note the cut off date )
2) under the auto club section of the form - put I-club and your handle / nick ( no handle/nick = no discount)
3) write chq for $20.00 instead of $25.00
4) link stamp and put in mail box ASAP

Please note - you will only recieve instruction on how to get to registration after we have recieved your entry form.

This workshop was held back in April 1, 2001. Info on what the workshop was like can be found at http://www.rallybc.com/html/2001_novice_series.html

It will be a great intro to TSD and Navigational Rallying.

We DO NOT recommend this for anyone with lowered suspension. Mud guards are recommended Skid plate is not nessessary. It will be run during the daylight. We will be running the off-road portion of the workshop on gravel.

If you have any questions, please email ken@rallybc.com

Cheers,

Rally Ken

Ken, I'll be there if I don;t have to go down to Seattle and see Dave Clark on that day. I will need a navigator though as my son plays soccer on Saturdays. Does anyone fancy doing this and not getting their car dirty? Post here if you're interested and I should find out soon if I am going to Seattle or not.

Default As soon as I can confirm my class schedule...

I should be good to go as either a navigator or driver -- gotta stick my mudflaps on though. What's holding me back is that I *may* have classes on saturdays. Dunno yet.

LaterZ!

Ken, are these nice gravel roads? Will my car get dirty? I'm not sure about taking it off pavement Is there free Pocky for competitors? My kids asked me to say high and to tell you to always give me Pocky to bring home

Yes - these are really nice gravel roads.
And, yes - your car will get nice and dusty or dirty ( depending on weather)

I will talk to Glico Canada Corp ( supplier of Pocky) and see if they have some more for this fun run. I'm not sure how they will react as my sponsor when I break to them the news of our crash

But anyhow - I'll bring what I have left from the rally this last weekend and pass them out on first come first serve basis for sure!

Any by the way - I've got a 10-pak for your kids - thanks for coming out and helping with the event. Being Car 00 must have been so much fun!

For pics of this event held back in April 1, 2001 - check out Firewire's write up about the event at http://www.futurelooks.com/features/...age1_frame.htm

I could do that every weekend. Of course I would have to give up work to rest during the week.

Tell your sponsor you were leading when you went out

Well, I really want to go... so I guess it's a choice between either going to this rally, or go auto-x on the next day

I think the Rally WINS by a mile

Now here comes the tough part... i guess I will need a navigator, as I can't read while sitting in a car... plus I'd rather drive..

Is anyone interested?

We can split everything 50/50 such as the fees and gas... how bout it?

The TSD is over by 6pm on the Saturday. Why not do both? I will be if I can be there.

no - better yet - bring it along and do it during the transits!

Saturday is going to be fun - the next rally workshop won't be until the end of October. And it's going to be a two day one night - overnighter rally that's going thru mud and maybe even snow.

Doing this Fun Run will refresh those who took the workshops before and for those who never took one of our workshops.... well... I highly recommend doing this one as a peek into where rallying starts.

Youthanasia: I'll be sending you a soft copy of the TSD Workshop handbook that will cover some of the stuff you might want to bring.

Some things you might want to look at during the weekend is a calculator, digital watch, notepad, clipboard, pens and highlighter.

Other good things to get if you have time is a fire extinghisher ( 5BC), First Aid kit, and an emergency triangle. A towrope is also a good option to consider. All of these items are avaiable at UAP/Napa and if you are a memeber of WCRA, they give you a discount with your membership card.

Anyways - any questions, post them here or email me :-)

ashtaron14: you can send out a post dated chq for the 29th

- but send it out no later than Friday - just so it gives enough time for the snail mail to get to me - then I can add you to the registry

If you have any questions - please email me to make alternative arrangments

Wow Keno, so many things to bring, are all of those required for the first day? Can I delay the fire extinguisher, tow rope, etc. until I get my membership card and just have the bare essensials (i.e. stuff for navigating?)
