Question Games?

As some of you may know, I'm opening up an internet gaming place. What I need to know is what games you guys play and would like to see my place feature. And of course this will be paramount as we can have iClub nights there, and of course gaming competitions.

Driving games, etc...

Counter Strike seem to be very popular lately... Also there's Diablo2 expension... Age of empire2? SWAT?

Maybe you should go down to some other internet cafes to do some "business spy" works.

I know of the common games that people play over networks. I'm thinking more of different games...like GT2/3 etc...some driving games, etc...

I think you should not rely on the current trend, as new games comes out very often. You should check out the local stores, or just go buy a few magazines such as PC Gamer, it'll certainly help you out.

But definetly get some Racing games for us i-clubbers

You're gonna have PS2s at your cafe?

GT3 is definately a good choice... GT2 would be even better.

Yeah, if you have the money to invest in some PS2 machines and some decent TVs, that would make some money for you in the long run. You can hold tournaments and the whole bit with GT3. Not many people have the opportunity to play with 5 other people head to head. And with sports games coming out that support the Ilink. Drool, 10 player NHL2002?

I dont play many computer racing games, I just dont find them that fun. CR2 has already been mentioned, but it wont appeal to that many people. You need more arcade type race games,

Heres a list with reviews and all:

Default id software rules!

there's always the classic Quake series. People are still playing Quake 3 in spite of CounterStrike's popularity. And the super hardcore are still playing Quake 1!!!!! My brother still plays it from time to time.

The "Return to Wolfenstein" beta just came out, it looks like a really good game. The only available level is a Saving Private Ryan look-alike. People are playing it all over the net.

id Software is currently making Doom 3, Doom originally started the whole multiplayer gaming revolution.

And Quake 4 is in production as well.

Keiho, I asked u b4 ur other post, ya need employees? I can send u my resume and stuff.

Anybody remember Bliink Interactive? That place was sooo ahead of its time.

Yeah, that's about right.

IMHO ... the only good driving games are the coin-op variety. I know it's not what you want to hear, but PC wheel/pedal peripherals just suck. They have to achieve a price point that is not the same as coin-ops....

Then again, if you were to do better than the coin ops ... install name brand race seats (Recaro, Momo, Sparco, etc.) and do up a nice cockpit... that's a different story.

Default how about RPG's?

Baldur's Gate II, Everquest, Neverwinter Nights (not out yet), Age of Camelot (not out yet either)... etc. etc... Massive multiplayer online role playing games are da bomb!!! And it's nice to play if all of your party is in the same room...

i vote for Porsche Unleashed. hella fun to play over a network and what not. we'll have to somehow bring our own persona though, since you do tune your car quite a bit.

haven't tried Motorcity Online yet... i'm on the beta tester's list but i forgot to send in the money to get the cd sent to me. Kent, if you wanna try it i can see if i can still get the cd and let you try out the Beta...

I also vote for the NFS series too.. multiplayer Fifa 2001 and NHL2002!! and of course GT2/3 would be very cool.. ppl can bring their own memory cards to challenege other players.

One thing comes to mind is the cost of maintaining the steering wheels and pedals..

Does the i-Club discount work there as well? hehehe j/k

Heh. Not just driving games, but others not so well known games as well. Thanks guys for the suggestions, the guy in charge of software will be looking at this for sure.

As for iClub discounts, how could I ever forget my boys...and girls. Not to worry, there will be something for you all. iClub nights even! Can you guys say "minimeet"?
