Default FS: Dell Poweredge 4400 server

I was going to put it on ebay, but I've been agonizing at the thought of having to pack and ship the thing, but I could meet you half way somewhere if it was worth the $$$.

Dual 866 Xeons, 2GB ram, 2 18GB drives on RAID controller, NT 4.0, SCSI CD, SCSI tape backup. Has been unplugged for a couple years so it forgets it's cmos, I think it just needs to be kept plugged in for a while. $200 or bo.

Let me know..

With the 4200 series (believe that is what it is called) you can mod the mobo to fit a PCI video card, thus turning it into a Desktop with a crappy video card.

It is not a hard thing to do and the 4200 (again it might be the 4220 or even the 3800) has a website dedicated to it. I can't remember the exact name but if someone is interested in knowing how to mod this to get it to run as a desktop (it probably won't right now) I can track down that info.

The thing has like 8 pci slots, I don't see why you could use one of them. *shrug*

Some of those were only meant to be servers. How old is it? Maybe I meant that you can mod one to fit a PCI Express card, or maybe they are all PCI-X slots, which is not PCI-E or regular PCI.
I am not trying to crap your thread, I am trying to do the exact opposite. This could make a good home computer for internet/work related things.

4400 are old beasts, good machines but I doubt you're getting a pci-e card in there without duct tape and imagination. I may have a few drive sleds at work if it isn't full, makes for a good bank of drives.
