No.

Wrong final drive, and the 2.2 is cable clutch, while the 02 is hydro. Swap over a diff and the clutch stuff and you're in business.

You're wrong.

You don't have to swap over to a hydraulic clutch as long as you continue to use the push type clutch in your car.

swap over a diff?? i do have the clutch stuff like the slave cylinder and the cable and spring right???

my situation is that this guy is trying to buy it from me and he has a 2.2
and i dnt want to screw him over. im giving him the tranny, clutch flywheel, clutch bearing, clutch slave cylinder, the spring, and the clutch hose. everything that i took of to do my wrx tranny swap.

so i am wondering if my trany will go on. what is up with that final drive??

sang,

your RS gearbox has a hydrolicaly actualated clutch. the 2.2L gearbox has a cable actuallated clutch

he will have to change your gearbox to cable actullation.

easily done, just needs to swap the cable parts over to your gearbox. my friend has done it before.

he COULD change his pedal box to hydrolic, that would require him getting a clutch master cylinder and a pedal box assembly for a hydro clutch.

not hard.

all ej motors and ej gearboxes are friends.

Is the 2002 RS transmission a pull type? He'll just need the clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. He'll need to find a non-hydraulic clutch fork though.

I KNOW he doesn't need to swap out to a hydraulic clutch because I put a 2001 RS transmission in my 93 Impreza and retained the cable style clutch.

No I'm not. You have to either switch to hydro pedals OR switch out the hydro clutch slave cylinder.

And a RS hydro slave cylinder? You're missing my point.
