Default TUrbo the RS or EJ20 swap

please help!
new to subaru scene. I always had an admiration for teh older model 2door 2.5RS ....shoudl I just turbo it..will it handle, does it work? or is it better to do teh Swap for teh newer WRX EJ20? (or is it EJ25) engine.
Please advise. Car will want to be used for some light rally.

Want to also make 300bhp.
Could some one fill me in withthe engine codes also.

you should run GT30R on 2.5rs engine. it is the bestestestestest

theres a section on the top, that talks alot about this.

good luck hunting for information!. you can also look around and see what various rally teams are doing

i vote for swap.. i turbo'd my RS before, was ok, but motor wasnt built for it..

You can turbo your RS for much less than a swap but it will be nowhere near as reliable nor will it make the same ultimate hp numbers. If you can keep yourself into the 250 AWHP or less ballpark a turbo setup will be doable... any more and you must swap or build the hell out of the EJ25.

That said, I'm planning another DIY setup on my next car but built with the intention of swapping if/when the motor goes pop.

Just remember, Subies are like Legos. You can frankenstein anything you want... just tune it properly and make sure the supporting drivetrain can handle it

how much for an EJ20 engine? where can i get them from?
