Post Bumper covers 95-99

Anyone removed covers looking to fabricate solid driving lite mounts?
How involved is it? Require removing headlite clusters? Any specifics concerning airbag components?
Thanks
andy

Question

I'm unclear. What are you trying to do? Install a rack of rally lights? Put in non-factory fog/driving lights? Put in driving lights in addition to your existing fogs?

I plan to one day replace the factory fogs altogether with some Catz XLD dual driving/fog lamps. The opening for the fogs in the airdam is something like 5x9 in size, so most lights will fit in there with room to spare. I figure that with the extra room left around the replacement fogs, I could install some brake ducts ala Mike "Herbie" Herbst's Project 2.5 RS

Post

Add driving lights, preferably on a temp. rack that can be mounted, removed, easily for night rallying.
There appear to be no straight paths for drilling holes without removing the plastic bumper covering - actually I've got a frame cobbled up for a GTX carrying 2 Bosch Rallye's & 2 Cibie big (similar "cesar" model) rectangular fogs which make exceptional corner lights-probably can use this. There seems to be a solid enough composite beam behind the outer sheath, but not real accessible with power drill.
was hoping someone would have an idea I was missing that would avoid removal of light clusters & all frontal plastic....
Thanks!

Lightbulb

I'm sorry, but I have no first-hand help to give you. Rallispec, I believe, has put together a temporary light rack for the Impreza. I would think that you could get a fair idea of one for your GT from that.

You should hopefully be able to find a thread on it in the main forum. I'd guess to search on "light rack" and/or Rallispec.
