Question Subaru Newbie here

Newbie here . My wife and I signed a lease for the 7 passenger Tribeca at the begining of this year and have had the B9 for a month now. We love the B9 and it is also our first Subaru. I do have some questions for you all though. I have noticed a couple of things that are bugging me about the B9.

First of all, I noticed almost immediately, that outside noise directly in front of the vehicle penetrates the cabin very easily, almost as if the windshield was to thin or not sealed properly.

Second, I have noticed on various occassions that the acceleration on the vehicle seems to cut out momentarily during a low speed turn, so much so, that I find myself leaning forward into the turn and waiting for the vehicle to accelerate, and yes my foot is on the accelerator . I can't recall if it's only left or right or both, but it has happened to me at least a dozen times already. It also happened to another B9 they lent us (for 3 days), until they got my black on grey in from another dealer. The other B9 was also brand new. It had 15 miles on the odo.

Third, the initial take off from first gear is not always smooth. Sometimes it is, but other times it feels broken up or jittery.

Has anyone else experienced this on their B9? or will these things dissapear as the B9 breaks in. Currently, I have about 850 miles on the Odometer and was wondering if I should take it to the dealer for these minor nuisances????

Thanks in advance.

Cesar

Not sure about your noise issue. Mine is super quiet.

Be gental and steady on gas paddle. I remember when I got my first Subaru almost 10 years ago, I can't get a smooth launch either Tribeca's gas paddle is a little bit more touchy than other Subarus because the throttle is actually computer controlled.

No noise here. I have not experienced any throttle problems at all. Consumer Reports mentions some:

Thanks for the replies.

3rdsub, I read that report. I am an online member of consumer reports. The jittery launch is not as bad as the cut out in acceleration in the slow, sharp corners.

Foxbat, As I mentioned in my post, I had driven another new B9 Tribeca for 3 days until they got the one I wanted in the dealer, and I also recalled that the cabin was super quiet in that one. I actually noticed how quiet it was, several times in those 3 days, when I had the windows down for a while and then rolled them up to put the AC on. That is what made the penetrating noise so obvious in actual Subaru that we leased. For example: as we pulled off the lot and came up on the first stop light, there was a couple of motorcycles in front of us and the guys began to talk to each other and we heard every word they were saying like if the windows were down or something. My wife and I looked at eachother dumbfounded at how loud that seemed to be. If we didn't have somewhere we had to be, I would have turned back around and taken it back to the dealer. But as with anything, I have already grown accustomed to the interior noise. I will try to take it to the dealer though so that they can check it out. Thank God it's a lease though, it sounds like I may have a "slightly irregular" Subaru .

But don't get me wrong, besides these minor issues, I think the B9 is awesome. I'll try taking it tomorrow to the dealer to see what they find.

Thanks,
Cesar

Purchased my Tribeca in November only have a little over 1,000 miles on it.

Have not noticed any road noise on the open highways. The vehicle is very comfortable on road trips with three people and two Greyhounds.

I love Subaru and still have a 1992 Subaru Legacy L with 54,000 miles on it.
