Default Legacy's turbo in Impreza engine

Can it be done? I was thinking of taking out a turbo from a Legacy Turbo and plunk the turbo into my 2.2l OBS. is that possible? I've asked this a few times but no one can answer at the main bbs. Maybe you Legacy ppl would know. Thanks.

Thumbs up

Are you thinking of just adding the turbo "pieces" to your stock OBS motor or swapping in the complete turbo motor? The turbo motor is quite a bit different with it's 8.0:1 compression ratio, closed deck block, crankcase vents, sensors, ECU, etc.

Have you found a 2.2l turbo motor somewhere, I am looking for one as well.

Just the turbo if that's possible. I think the new 2.2 phase II is more powerful than the old 2.2l so I might be able to harness more power off the Legacy turbo....in theory. I'm sure I can find an old Legacy turbo up here in Canada. Everybody thinks Subaru is like Hyundai or something.

If you see the turbo size, you might change your mind. I try Minnam stage II on RS the other day with T3/T4 which is much bigger than stock Legacy and T28. I don't feel any lack at all. When my friend drive my car, he thought my turbo is bigger than him. I think because of the compression that make my car has a little bit of lack.
