Default Having trouble starting car

Car cranks but doesn't want to turn on. I had it running a couple times but it doesn't seem to want to go. I've got a fresh tank of gas in there and I've reset the Apexi FC back to the stock maps. It just cranks and cranks but sometimes when I let off the key, it'll kinda stumble like it wants to start but it doesn't at all. I've also put some iridium plugs in, the correct ones for one step colder. Would that be doing anything to mess up it starting?

I'm thinking of pulling on of the plugs and seeing how it does and checking to see if they got fouled before I reset the maps.

Any input?

Also, with the Apexi FC, the CEL comes on in the ON position but doesn't stay on. When I crank the car and when it sometimes stays on, the CEL comes on as I'm cranking or as the car starts up but then shuts off. What might that be and how do I check CELs on the Apexi FC?

I cleaned the MAF with some electronic cleaner. I don't have the OEM ECU, so I'll try to pull the CEL.

I pulled a spark plug and it was a little black with 4 miles on them.

Plugs are covered in fuel. I'm way too rich.

I need to figure out how to turn the injectors down with the Apexi FC.

maybe check to see how much alcohol is in your tank... its a simple test.

alcohol + cold weather = no start... i.e. try starting a lighter when its 20 out

your plugs are going to be covered in fuel if your car cranks and don't start..
well i gues your fuel pump is working properly.. check your coil wires.. check if u plugged backwards.. check if your cam sensors bad.. check your maf..

if your plugs are soaked with fuel.. Find some other plugs to put in, let the cylinders dry out, try again. See if that works any better. Do you have a spare coil to try out?

All the coils checked out, so I pulled all the spark plugs and each one was foul so I cleaned them up. The car fired right up after that.

So it starts right up, and then it'll die?

similar to old carburetor problems.. hmm old carburator cars does when starting.. just have to adjust the fuel valve to fix this problems(on carb cars)..but our cars.. fuel injected and controlled by ecu..hmm check fuel pressure regulator.. what mods do you have on the car?? what kind injectors? did you get them tuned if modded or aftermarket injectors??
