Default legacy 2.2l

So ive came across a NON turbo legacy short block and am curious if it will fit on my car. Iknow search i did and read stickys but still am lost. I drive an 05 wrx wagon and as i said am curious as to if it will fit. i plan on getting it rebuilt and all that but want to know before i purchase it if it will be worth the investment. Thank you.

Joshua.

P.S. lamens terms would be greatly appreciated

Probably would not recommend you go that route.

The engine itself is setup for n/a, not turbo setup. So the internals aren't probably as good. Other issue is the electronics, and the fact the first gen legacies are OBD1 and the WRX is OBD2

All first gen legacies 90-94, including turbo legacies were OBD1. The turbo legacy was available from 91-94. The motor, ej22t has a closed deck.

Lots of pics from my rebuild can be found here
