Default 30k Maint.

Hello All. I need some advice. I just hit 30k on my sube and the dealer wants like $500+ plus for the service. What is really necessary to change/inspect at this point?

One more question, does anyone know a good manual to read on car repair for my WRX. I would much rather do this service ***** myself. Except maybe the spark plugs, they are a pain.

replace engine coolant, replace trans/diff oils, replace brake fluid, replace air/oil filters and engine oil like usual, inspect brake wear/drive belts and your general once over the important stuff

i'm going to pick up a 5 quart jug of valvoline 75w90 for my trans (sti) and some synpower dot4 brake fluid from walmart

then 1gal coolant, coolant conditioner and lsd/rear diff oil from the dealer

just do a few things per day, that's what i'm gonna do (27k currently)

My local dealer charged less than $300 for the service. May want to look around...
