Wink

From every post (alt.autos.subaru, Edmund's)I've seen from the great white North, that's what I understand. So it must be gospel

The Subaru of Canada showroom lists 5MT standard, 4EAT optional. And websites are on computers, computers are always right, so the website has to be right, yes?

Seriously though, is this what the Canadian dealers say?

If this true, I've just got to hear Subaru of Canada's reasoning.

Apologies for the sarcasm, Gambit, as I don't know you; please don't take it the wrong way. I was just in one of those moods.

Cool

I think I heard that in canada the wagon GT only comes in 4EAT and the sedan GT comes in both. I could be wrong. There is a guy in Washington with a MY00 Wagon and it is a 5-speed. If you really want a 5-speed then come down to the states!

I am in love with the sedan GT not the wagon GT. So far the ones I saw here in Canada are autos. I should've go and asked my dealer when i was there the other day.

In Canada, the MY2k Legacy GT's come as follows:

Sedan = 5MT & 4EAT
Wagon = 4EAT

Apparently in the US, you can get the Wagon with the 5MT but you can't in Canada.

Finally got delivery 10 days ago of our Legacy GT Sedan with 5MT after 9 weeks of waiting!!!! Much quiter than '99 & earlier models but a little slower due to increased weight (about 100kg). Nice car, but needs more power (like we haven't heard that one before). Over all, very nicely finished and the Titanium Pearl color has got to be seen to be believed...just fantastic.

Does Canada have the limited edition?
If so, I would recommend you get the limited GT. It will cost you $1000 more, but you will get leather seats, 2 side airbags, hidden atanna, and UV glass.

It's worth the $1000 (us dollars)

Unfortunately I wil not be getting one anytime soon. Cus I own a 99 OBS. Really happy with it. But when i grow older I will most likely get the GT sedan over the RS cus c'mon are you gonna drive your million dollar client to lunch on an RS?! Hehehe.... Prayerfully, by that time the GT would've come with 220hp to boot around. Is it nimble?
BTW, limited don't do much for me as I am not into leather and heated seats etc....
