Unhappy High idle help

okie dokie, here we go again.

background: my98 L coupe, EJ22, 4EAT...now with a MY02 EJ25 engine.

car runs now, i ad to replace the coil pack, so now it runs on all 4 cylinders (yay!) but unfortunately it idles at about 1600 RPMs, and i have no clue why.

i'm wondering if not having a TPS connected or a bad MAF would make it do this. i tried un-plugging the MAF sensor, and the car idled very roughly at 500 RPMs. is there a way to test if the MAF is good?

i've checked my vaccuum lines, and everything is in good order and not leaking. i'm not 100% positive they'r ein the right place, but pics will be up tomorrow to confirm that.

anyone have any suggestions?

wait you are running a 2002 EJ253 on a 98 L EJ22?

that's where i'd start for problems, it's running in open loop because it doesn't know why it's drawing so much air

woops, sorry for excluding that info, i'm running it off the sock 2.2 ECU, with the map sensor not connected and just plugging up the hole in the manifold, with the MAF sensor connected and functioning.
