Default BMW 1 series convertible spotted

Coming to US. via leftlanenews

Quote:
Spy photographers working for Hans G. Lehmann captured some shots of a prototype of the BMW 1-Series convertible. (Front View | Rear View | Side View). The 1-Series convertible, which won't hit the market for a year or more, is expected to be offered in the United States alongside a 1-Series coupe. The four- and two-door 1-Series hatchbacks are not expected to come stateside. In early December, Leftlane News cited a published report suggesting the 120 Si coupe and convertible would be a "baby M3" a "spiritual successor" to the E30 M3 (1986-1991).

Weird... they disguised it as sort of convertible MG ZR or shortened ZS?

That car (from the spy photos at least) is nothing close to a "spiritual successor" to the E30. But I guess we'll see.

That looks HUGE for a 1-series. Hell it looks as big as the last-gen 3-series.

If the coupe version of that car comes around 3000 lbs with direct injection 3.0L, it'll be pretty sweet.
