Default 2007 Dodge Caliber SRT-4 @ 2006 Chicago Show

2007 Dodge Caliber SRT-4 @ 2006 Chicago Show

Quote:
Simon Elliott, Managing Director of Chrysler Group said: "The SRT-4 has been developed by Chrysler Group’s ‘Street Race Technology’ performance division. All SRT vehicles feature unique exterior details, lowered sports suspension, sports interior and a powerful engine - the all-new 2.4-litre turbocharged engine boasts a tyre-smoking 300 horsepower to deliver a level of power you’d expect from a V8!"

The SRT-4 is a performance version of the Dodge Caliber and offers 260 lb. ft. of torque from a 2.4-litre turbocharged engine to reach 0-60 mph in less than 6 seconds.

Can't argue with a 2.4L turbo making 300 HP though.
It's definitly not gonna attract the same clientele as the old SRT4, that's for sure.

OK, now that I'm done goofing on the thing... I've stood under a pre-production Caliber, and there's plenty of space for AWD action in that thing (driveshaft tunnell, etc.) All I've seen so far is FWD bits for it, though.

Well seeing as how it shares a platform with the next-gen Evo, I think room for an AWD system is a given.

No joke it will smoke "tyres". 300hp + FWD = no traction until you're going 85mhp.

I don't think it looks that bad. Better than a Neon at least, not that that is saying much.

fyi...this is all i got so far in my email....i am pretty sure it is AWD...remember this is built on the next EVO platform also...

plus if you do the Build & Price

http://www.dodge.com/caliber/

the current top of the line model R/T comes with AWD...

Although if the SRT-4 gets the awd, it will be a haldex system.
