Question Syn lubes for tranny and diffs

What's peoples thoughts on using synthetic oil in the tranny and differentials? What about brands. Redline seems to be highly reguarded.

Mobil 1 is as good as Redline but much less.
Use it after the car is at least 10Kmi.

Thumbs up

I have been using Mobil 1 for the trans and rear diff, shifts better almost instantly! Nice and smooth, cold weather? not a problem with the synthetic, shifter moves nice and easy. Very worth the money :-)

I use Mobile 1 in both as well with no problems but I'm going to try Mobile 1's gear oil without the friction modifiers, for the tranny( like Redline NS). Supposedly it's a little better for our trannys but not absolutely needed. I've also read something a while back on the GVR4 message board about something in Redline tranny fluid that eats away at bearings over time. Don't know how true it is though.
