Okay so i was looking at this link and it really didnt say how it works with the utec. Is it just an overpriced wideband? Please excuse my ignorance.

It inserts the AFR into the UTEC logs. You can manage it via the same serial interface you manage the UTEC from, and has the LED display to show AFR. There are alternatives such as the LM-1 or Zeitronix but you will need third party software to merge the AFR data into the UTEC logs.

MPS logger will merge several popular wideband logs together with your UTEC logs. It is easier to startup and start logging that Hyperterminal anyway.
The Innovate LM-1 basic kit is a great buy for $349 with a Bosch sensor and serial cable. You shouldn't need anything else but a USB to serial cable for your laptop. It's pretty popular. |

With the MPS you'll need 2 usb ports and 2 adapters - 1 for the Utec and 1 for the LM-1 correct? Its been awhile since I've used the MPS and might have it confused with one of the other interfaces for the utec... The tuner - utec interface is kind of annoying... its easy to connect to initially but everytime I'd save a map and reset the ECU i'd have the worst time getting back into the Utec - I'd always get stuck in the tuner interface and spend 5 minutes cussing trying to get back into the Utec - usually requiring several restarts... I possibly had something hooked up incorrectly for powering the tuner but idk... I'm done with it now anyway ![]() |

after tuning other cars with widebands and having to try and integrate them into the logs or use other software to do so and have extra cables I would never go back from the tuner. It's been great for me, I've never had any trouble with it hanging, and having afr in the logs is the best ever!!! my 0.02

Have it and love it. Don't know how life would be with some other unit but I never want to find out after using this.
