Default USDM wrx/sti turbo parts in a '98-'01 RS?

Is it a bolt-on affair (Intake and turbo manifolds, uppipe, downpipe, intercooler w/ piping, turbo, etc..) to the stock 2.5RS engine with no custom work involved at all? I did a search, but it didn't come up with exactly what I was looking for. If anyone can show me links to threads or know-how's, I'd appreciate it.

WRX intake will fit on 99-01, sometimes needs alittle work but it'll go. STI intake will only bolt to STI Heads. To use the turbo manifolds your going to need to change out the crossmember too. I think if you use the STI crossmember you have to use the STI steering rack, WRX will bolt right in with the RS parts. Everything else is easy, sometimes the intercooler needs some persuasion to fit.

Do a search in the Aftermarket Forced Induction area. This has been covered in there multiple times. For reference though, Forget the intake manifold because you'll have to use the throttle body too. The easiest way is:

WRX Crossmember
Exhaust manifold
Uppipe
Downpipe
Turbo
Turbo Plumbing
Intercooler and plumbing
Some kind of EM to control boost, Fuel, And Timing

Fuel can sometimes be controlled by a Rising Rate Fuel Pressure regulator but I don't trust that. The Perfect Power EM from ralitek has had good results in a guy's custom supercharger setup.

It sounds like you're trying to "Turn" your NA EJ25 into a Turbo EJ25 simply by adding on the turbo parts. If that's what you're doing, that's not a good idea. First off if it's not a 99RS, it's MAP and you need to change that to MAF. Second, an EJ253 is not constructed to take the same beating as the EJ255 or EJ257. Plus it has a higher C/R which is not good for just bolting on a turbo that makes 14+ psi.

Yes, I understand that it's an N/A motor with high compression. It is a '99, and I'm sure some type of engine management is going to be taken into consideration. The car's not mine, btw.

Master2192: Thanks!
