Talk Me Out Of It--wrx Gc8 Harness Swap
I Am Considering Swapping Wrx Ecu And Harness Into My Gc8. The Car Already Has A Jdm Ej20 In It However I Wouldt Like To Upgrade The Ecu For Tuning And Conveniance Purposes. Please Either Try And Convince Me Not To Do This On My Own, Or Provide Me With All The Information You Can So I Can Mke This Work..
Thanks For Any Feedback

We need a lot more information about your set up like what car, and what's making it run right now to give you good guidance. and ditch the caps. BOTH ALL CAPS and Using The First Letter Is Pretty Damned Annoying...

ok i have a gc8 2000 rs running the factory ecu wireing sensors etc. and the motor is a jdm ej20 out of anearly 90's legacy(the motors was off ebay and thats all the info i know about it} for engine management to make the n/a ecu work with the turbo engine i am using a emanage with timing and fuel adjustments and pressure sensor.also an injector correction. This seems to good for what it is, however i would like to attempt to swap a wrx harness and ecu because it will greatly open up my options as far as having a more reliable car and more tuning abilitly with a boost map etc.also there is much more tuning software avalible. i also wanted to know would i have to swap most of the harness or just the engine harness? how much splicing is really involved? is this something i would be able to tackle myself( keep in mind everythig done to this car, was done in my driveway, minus the tune}
the car has flywheel, clutch, eaquil length header, 3" turbo back ... thanks in advance for any guidance, -Glenn |
